Pete Riley - Singer/Songwriter/Musician

Born & raised in Liverpool, England, Pete Riley has been playing music ever since he can remember. He played his first gig in Liverpool, doing Beatle covers at the age of 12. After being paid 15 pounds, he realized this was what he was going to do with the rest of his life. He went on to play in numerous bands, touring the British Isles through the 80's and early 90's.

In late 1996, Pete's band, TREEHOUSE, decided to try their luck in the USA. They were strongly advised against it, as it could be a costly mistake. They disregarded the advice, and set off for America, backed by their manager, Dan Priest.

After grinding it out in the legendary venues of Los Angeles {Whiskey a GoGo, The Troubadour, etc.}, word got around about the band from Liverpool. As fate would have it, on a scheduled day off, they were invited to play an impromptu gig on the Sunset Strip at Borders Book Store. The boys amazingly landed themselves a record deal with Atlantic Records.

In 1997, Pete began touring the US with Treehouse, timed perfectly with their newly released debut album, "Nobody's Monkey." Pete and the band opened for so many major US bands that it is hard to number them! At the end of 2001, after their final tour with The Cranberries in the UK, Treehouse split up.

Pete was then fortunate to be able to do a solo, acoustic tour in the UK and Ireland. With the release of his first solo album, "AFTER THE PARADE," Pete was invited back to the US to open for multi-platinum artist, Edwin McCain, with whom he had formed a solid friendship. After successfully opening for EMB the next few months, Edwin asked Pete to be a permanent part of his band. It was a decision he didn't have to think twice about!

Recently, he has been writing with numerous artists from all over the world, focusing his time mainly in the US. [e.g. Edwin McCain, Maia Sharp, Angie Aparo, Kevn Kinney and Deadmono, to name but a few.] Pete has co-written with Edwin McCain on his last three albums, plus the single release, "Say Anything," which was written by Pete, Maia and Edwin. The soon-to-be released album, "Lost in America," will be available on April 11.

Pete has done numerous TV appearances in the US, including CNN, VH1 & Good Morning America on CBS.

Working with Murlyn Music [Sweden], collaborating with their staff writers on various projects, Pete recently wrote 4 tracks for Liverpool's singer/songwriter, Jade Gallagher, scheduled for release in 2006.

Due to the number of side projects Pete has been working on, it has been almost impossible to press on with his 2nd solo record. However, inspired by the constant email requests he has received from around the globe, he has finally put the time aside to concentrate on finishing it this summer.
